Under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor with clinical oversight provided by the FWB Manager or designee, the Project-Based Mental Health Therapist-NE provides mental health services (consultation or therapy) as required by contract. The PB MHT-NE provides services such as individual/ family therapy and/or clinical consultation for the duration of the funding, set to conclude on June 30, 2026. The PB MHT-NE maintains current and accurate documentation of services as required by contract. The PB MHT-NE operates within the current best practices of the Mental Health field and adheres to Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) or Board of Psychology (BOP) legal/ethical standards, State regulations, and Agency policy.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctoral Degree in psychology, social work, or related field.
  • License-eligible in the State of California through the BBS or BOP.
  • Minimum of 1 year of direct experience providing therapy to adults, couples, families, and children.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children birth to five and their families.
  • Knowledge of trauma informed care, ACEs/PEARLs, mental health and developmental issues with children 0-5 years.
  • Must maintain current CA BBS registration in good standing for the duration of employment.
  • Maintain First Aid & CPR certification.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Services to enrolled recipients (60%) including individual/family therapy to adults/children and/or mental health consultation with early childhood educators/caregivers.
  • Complete required initial intake assessments/screenings.
  • Provide immediate clinical assessment and intervention of potential 5150/5585 situations.
  • Maintain documentation of all services provided to assigned clients/families/early childhood educators.
  • Individualized Child and Family Centered Consultation (20%) including compliant documentation of clinical consultation to internal partners.
  • Provide and maintain compliant documentation of consultation and client needs.
  • Community Referrals (10%) including documentation of referrals and linkages to assigned clients.
  • Participate in Reflective Supervision with FWB Director or designee.
  • Participate in team meetings as directed by Program Manager.
  • Contribute to federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
  • Comply with CA Mandated Child Abuse, Elder Abuse and Dependent Adult Abuse Reporting Laws.
  • Maintain proper confidentiality/HIPAA compliance procedures.
