About The Position

We are in the business of limitless potential. We partner with owners to deliver their healthcare, transportation, and commercial projects with our Project Management/Construction Management team working at the forefront of design and delivery for some of our region’s most meaningful and impactful programs. As a Project Intern, you will gain meaningful, hands-on experience supporting the coordination, planning, and execution of large-scale projects. Working alongside project managers and technical specialists, you will help bring projects to life—while learning the fundamentals of project delivery in a collaborative, professional environment. This internship offers a unique opportunity to explore how multidisciplinary teams manage complex projects and programs in multiple sectors of business from early planning through design and construction support. The position is based in our Louisville, Kentucky office, with occasional periods of time in Lexington and site visits to projects in the region.

Requirements

  • Strong interest in the project management process and willingness to learn while helping deliver healthcare, transportation, and commercial projects.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills in both written and verbal contexts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to adapt to new tools, processes, and project requirements as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to occasionally visit project sites and observe construction activities.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Coursework or exposure to design or construction management topics preferred.
  • Previous internship or co-op experience in an engineering or construction environment is an asset but not required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Bluebeam is preferred.
  • Previous internship or co-op experience in an engineering or construction environment is an asset but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support project managers in the preparation of project documentation, coordination of project deliverables, and tracking of project progress.
  • Assist in organizing project data, maintaining schedules, and preparing presentations or reports for internal and client meetings.
  • Contribute to the design and development of technical deliverables.
  • Participate in research, data analysis, and technical studies to support design or project planning activities.
  • Assist with proposal development and other business development initiatives as needed.
  • Occasionally support site visits or construction coordination activities to observe how projects are delivered and work with the teams involved in the delivery process.
  • Work in a manner that promotes the health, safety, and well-being of Stantec employees, clients, and the public.
