Migration from Mexico and Central America to the United States is a longstanding and complex phenomenon. In January 2021, the new United States government created an inter-agency “Family Reunification Task Force” (FRTF) to reunify parents/guardians that were separated as a result of the Zero Tolerance policy and are currently in Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and other countries with their children in the United States, as well as to provide a temporary legal migratory status to those that are already in the United States. Under the general supervision of the Senior Programme Officer at the Global Office in Washington, D.C.,, and the direct supervision of the Family Reunification Task Force (FRTF) Senior Project Assistant, the incumbent is responsible for providing support to and coordination of the FRTF project, with the following duties and responsibilities:
