AECOM is actively seeking a talented Project Architect for immediate employment in our Virginia Beach office. This position will work on a variety of interesting projects mostly in the Federal sector. Primary job function include but are not limited to the following: Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations, preparing specifications, reports and related data tables, maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups, preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required. Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may independently perform advanced technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgets. May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project. May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel. May review and approve conceptual designs. May assist in the development of new architectural methods and techniques.

  • Reviewing and approving conceptual designs
  • Assisting in the development of new architectural methods and techniques
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture plus four (4) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • An Architecture license is required for this position, preferably in VA with NCARB
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture and six (6) years of relevant experience
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, and PowerPoint
  • Experience in public safety-related projects such as police facilities, emergency operation centers, emergency communication centers, and training facilities
  • Certification as a LEED Accredited Professional by the USGBC
  • Experience with SketchUp Pro, Adobe Creative Suites, or other related graphic software
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Diverse knowledge of architectural principles and practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in DoD and Federal Government related projects, UFCs, and standards
