About The Position

Join our team as a Project Architect at Gorman & Company! Gorman & Company is seeking a collaborative and detail-driven Project Architect to lead the design and documentation of multifamily and hospitality developments from concept through construction. This role plays a critical part in translating development vision into high-quality, buildable design solutions while coordinating closely with internal teams, consultants, and construction partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Architectural license or active progress toward licensure required.
  • Minimum five years of multifamily architectural design experience; affordable housing or LIHTC experience preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in REVIT and working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Experience working within the Atlanta market and surrounding areas preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and competing priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills with clear and effective communication abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to travel occasionally, including overnight stays as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural design and construction documentation for multifamily and hospitality projects from conception through construction completion.
  • Coordinate project deliverables with development, construction, engineering, and consulting partners to maintain design quality and project alignment.
  • Oversee building code analysis, unit layouts, specifications, and project scope development.
  • Manage consultant coordination including structural, MEP, and specialty consultants, including historic and NPS-related reviews when applicable.
  • Track project scope, design changes, and associated costs while supporting project budgets and schedules.
  • Produce and manage construction-phase documentation including RFIs, change orders, and construction bulletins.
  • Support marketing drawings and participate in project reviews to proactively identify and resolve design or constructability challenges.
