About The Position

As a Gensler Project Architect, your job is to combine creativity and technical knowledge to help guide our clients. You have developed communication and team-building skills which have prepared you to manage projects. In this role, you will have opportunities to develop your existing strengths in design and technical coordination while also managing client relationships directly. Gensler Phoenix is currently seeking an experienced Project Architect with a successful track record and well-rounded, broad architectural background with project experience in multiple typologies, including, but not limited to workplace, hospitality and multifamily.

Requirements

  • Professional degree in Architecture
  • Licensed Architect required
  • 15+ years of architectural experience, with a strong background designing multiple building typologies of varying scale; in the public and or private sectors
  • Experience in leading workplace, hospitality, multifamily, mixed use projects preferred
  • Experience with base building and/or build to suits required, with interiors experience preferred
  • LEED accreditation and experience preferred
  • Revit experience required; Rhinoceros, SketchUp, and other 3D modeling software a plus
  • Outstanding knowledge of building codes, standards, building structures, and building envelopes a plus
  • Proficient in moderating large teams of consultants, contractors, and clients
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships across the firm, with clients, and with other key constituents

Responsibilities

  • Engage directly with clients in coordination with clients or client stakeholders
  • Manage client, team and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with engineering and specialty consultants
  • Support communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials
  • Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design concepts
  • Work with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators
  • Perform technical design assignments that include programming client needs, diagramming and modeling conceptual strategies, developing conceptual designs into technical studies, and construction documentation
  • Understanding of staffing needs for project workplans working together with the Design Manager to ensure that the highest level of quality work is delivered
