About The Position

The Project Architect at Steinberg Hart is a licensed professional responsible for leading design teams through the intricate phases of design and technical development of architectural projects. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the construction process, ensuring that all technical documentation is meticulously managed throughout each phase of construction. The architect will be expected to demonstrate a strong ability to work on Department of Defense (DoD) projects, showcasing both skill and innovation in design, production drawings, and construction documents that align with the design intent and building systems. In this position, the architect will maintain detailed records of design decisions, including material selections and detailing methodologies, while also developing solutions through technical and design refinement. On-site observations will be a key responsibility, with the architect preparing detailed observation reports and managing project close-out efforts, including punch lists and certificates of occupancy. The role also involves direct client interaction for project scoping, proposal development, and service negotiations, ensuring the success of each project. As a project leader, the architect will manage small teams and undertake project management tasks such as staffing, fee estimating, and scheduling. Regular meetings with the Principal-in-Charge and Project Manager will be essential to provide insights on project status and contribute to the overall success of the projects. The architect will also represent the firm by participating in professional organizations and conferences, enhancing the firm's visibility and networking opportunities.
