About The Position

McKinney York Architects is a concept-driven design firm that believes in the power of people and places to enrich lives. Recipient of both the AIA Austin and Texas Society of Architects Firm Awards, our goal is to connect people to each other and the world around them by creating architecture that engages, inspires, and belongs. We work on a wide variety of project types from residential to academic, religious, commercial, and civic. For this position, we are seeking talented designers with a preferred experience level of 5+ years and the desire to be in a creative and collaborative office. Ideal candidates must thrive in a self-directed environment, have sound judgement, and an overactive attention to detail. Frequently, persons in this position will work on multiple projects, so the ability to stay organized and manage time carefully is important.

Requirements

• Professional degree in Architecture
• 5+ years' work experience
• Revit, AutoCAD and Sketchup/Formit proficiency
• Ability to communicate design ideas via hand sketching, 3D computer renderings and verbal presentation skills
• Knowledge of architectural design, documentation, detailing, building materials, building codes and construction technologies
• Commitment to all aspects of sustainability
