About The Position

MWA Architects is seeking a talented licensed architect to join our growing Infrastructure design studio in the SF Financial District. Our team is dedicated to designing sustainable, resilient, and beautiful public infrastructure facilities across California. We work with great clients and consultants, be they engineers, districts, or municipalities, and build lasting relationships through strong project collaboration. We are looking for a responsible, enthusiastic, and well-organized individual with the ability to effectively communicate with fellow team members, clients, and consultants. You will bring attention to detail and the drive to successfully guide projects through design and construction. We are looking for an individual who is comfortable working across a range of building scales, construction types, and architectural styles. Requirements

  • Architecture licensure in California. Oregon, Nevada, and/or Washington state license is also desirable.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • Minimum eight years of experience within a small to medium-sized firm/studio environment with at least two years of experience in highly technical project types such as industrial, administration offices, control rooms, laboratories, health care, maintenance facilities, public works, or transportation facilities.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator.
  • Ability to work in person Tue-Thu in the SF office.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with studio directors and project managers to schedule and prioritize project assignments.
  • Assist project teams in the development of design concepts and technical detailing for individual buildings and multi-building campuses.
  • Oversee and review technical documents for standards, code compliance, constructability, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain relationships with project subconsultants and oversee multi-discipline drawing coordination.
  • Provide mentorship to junior staff and offer guidance on assigned tasks.
  • Research building assemblies, materials, and products and assist in the development of related specification data and construction details.
  • Participate in construction administration tasks, including site visits throughout California and QC reviews of submittal and RFI responses.
