Our client is a long-established multidisciplinary firm providing architecture, engineering, and planning services for federal and civilian government agencies. With decades of experience delivering projects nationwide and internationally, the firm supports mission-critical federal facilities that demand rigorous technical standards, regulatory compliance, and operational reliability. Their work includes new construction, renovation, restoration, and expansion of federal buildings and infrastructure-adjacent facilities. Position Overview Our client is seeking a Project Architect with federal project experience to support a growing portfolio of DoD and civilian federal facilities. This role is well-suited for an architect who is detail-driven, comfortable navigating federal standards, and experienced delivering projects that must perform under strict regulatory and operational requirements.

Requirements

  • Licensed Architect (RA)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
  • 5+ years of professional architectural experience
  • Demonstrated experience on federal or DoD projects
  • Strong construction documentation and technical coordination skills
  • Proficiency in Revit
  • Ability to interpret and apply federal design standards and regulations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with DoD or civilian federal agencies
  • Exposure to secure or mission-critical facilities
  • Familiarity with sustainability or federal performance standards
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary, infrastructure-heavy environments

Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural projects from concept through construction, ensuring compliance with federal standards and agency requirements.
  • Develop and coordinate technical construction documents suitable for federal review and execution.
  • Apply advanced understanding of life-safety, security, durability, and resiliency standards.
  • Coordinate closely with structural, civil, MEP, and infrastructure teams.
  • Support projects involving infrastructure, utilities, stormwater, and site coordination.
  • Navigate federal permitting, agency review processes, and technical standards.
  • Participate in QA/QC processes to meet federal delivery expectations.
  • Conduct site visits and field observations.
  • Respond to RFIs and submittals in accordance with federal protocols.
  • Assist in resolving technical and coordination issues during construction.
  • Mentor junior staff and support technical knowledge transfer.
  • Collaborate across offices and disciplines within an integrated A/E/S framework.
  • Support evolving project demands with professionalism and adaptability.
