The Architectural Division at LaBella provides comprehensive planning and design services for a wide variety of markets, including Healthcare, K-12 and Higher Education, Residential, Commercial, and Municipal State Corrections. We are currently hiring a Project Architect/Designer in our Architectural division at our growing and energetic Potsdam, NY office. We believe architecture is more than creating, maintaining, and resurrecting the buildings in which we live, work, learn, and engage – it’s about beautifying and bettering the communities we call home. The overall expectations of this position are to be capable of developing construction drawings and specification for issuance to the project manager/Architect for review. The Project Architect/Designer must be motivated and be capable of performing all duties with minimal guidance. The Project Architect/Designer must be capable of performing construction administration and understand the applicable building code to implement into the design. It must be understood that assignments and hence supervision will differ from time to time. A successful candidate will be self-motivated with the willingness to learn, train, and continue building their architectural knowledge. Possess excellent collaboration skills and contribute to a positive work environment. The candidate will be trustworthy, professional and punctual and possess leadership and communication skills.

  • Work with large project teams, including outside subconsultants, to ensure that all aspects of the project are being met and completed.
  • Delegate aspects of work to the Project Technician and coordinate with all other disciplines.
  • Assist the Project Manager with client meetings, design team meetings, and construction administration.
  • Perform all duties with minimal guidance.
  • Lead, communicate, coordinate, and motivate team members.
  • Degree in Architecture
  • 4+ years of experience
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of New York State building codes
  • Strong technical design and construction document skills
  • Well-developed project design and planning skills
  • Excellent graphic presentation skills
  • CAD experience (AutoCAD and Revit preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project)
  • Registered Architect in the state of New York (desirable but not required)
