About The Position

A recognized practitioner and licensed Architect who possesses strong design and technical abilities and manages implementation documentation. Manages the firm’s resources (people, processes and tools) and assignments with proficiency, fluency and aptitude. Teaches and mentors staff and effectively embodies and expresses the firm’s values and mission.

Requirements

  • Accredited professional degree in Architecture required.
  • 8+ years of experience preferred.
  • Retail Bank Rollout experience preferred.
  • Architectural registration required.
  • Sustainable design accreditation preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Revit and Navisworks required.
  • Basic proficiency in Dynamo, Rhino, and Grasshopper required; intermediate preferred.
  • Basic experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, and InDesign software preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of sustainability and integrated design guidelines required.
  • Advanced knowledge of architectural building systems, accessibility guidelines, and QA/QC process required.
  • Advanced knowledge of building codes and ability to research and incorporate into implementation documents required.
  • Intermediate ability to build and maintain client relationships required.
  • Intermediate organizational skills for multiple concurrent projects required.
  • Intermediate ability to problem solve and apply innovative solutions required.
  • Intermediate ability to collaborate in a team environment required.
  • Advanced ability to effectively meet deadlines at expected quality required.

Nice To Haves

  • Intermediate presentation skills preferred.
  • Basic ability to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and execution of multiple retail projects within a larger brand or company's expansion plan.
  • Manage the architectural aspects of projects from initial concept through construction administration.
  • Ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Understand the unique challenges and requirements of retail projects, including consistent branding and customer-centric designs.
  • Lead consultants and technical team efforts to facilitate effective execution of project design.
  • Develop and manage the production schedule with the PIC/PM, effectively defining and meeting deadlines.
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate implementation documents prior to issue, ensuring conformity to QA/QC and HKS standards.
  • Manage technical resolution and coordination for a defined portion of a project.
  • Lead development of code analysis and confirm code and zoning requirements are met.
  • Coordinate design group interaction both internally and externally.
  • Maintain open communication with clients and provide guidance through projects.
  • Coordinate with project managers, clients, public agencies, consultants, and contractors.
  • Prepare client presentations and present design concepts and drawings.
  • Exercise skills of persuasion and negotiation on critical issues.
  • Perform product research and assist project designers with materials and systems evaluation.
  • Oversee appropriate application of products and materials available on the market.
  • Maintain awareness of risk management for potential project issues.
  • Lead team meetings to discuss project issues and technical coordination.
  • Attend on-site visits, field reviews, and project meetings, documenting as appropriate.
  • Prepare and/or review meeting minutes for consultant coordination meetings.
