About The Position

The Project Advisor plays a crucial role in supporting students academically within a designated discipline. The primary objective is to reduce student attrition and enhance the completion rates of required college courses. This position involves providing both individual and group coaching in essential skills such as writing, math, and study techniques. The Project Advisor is responsible for maintaining detailed academic progress files for all participants receiving tutoring and serves as an academic advisor to assigned program participants. Additionally, the advisor will administer and evaluate academic and needs survey assessments, create and maintain Individual Academic and Service Plans (IASP) for assigned participants, and attend professional development training to enhance their skills. Other duties may be assigned by the Project Coordinator as needed.

Responsibilities

• Providing academic support in a designated discipline with the goal of reducing student attrition and increasing completion of required college courses
• Providing individual and group coaching in writing, math, and/or study skills
• Maintaining academic progress files on all tutored participants
• Serving as academic advisor to assigned program participants
• Administering and evaluating academic and needs survey assessments
• Creating and maintaining Individual Academic and Service Plans (IASP) on assigned participants
• Providing individual and group coaching in writing and study skills
• Attending professional development training
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Project Coordinator
