ITS Project Accountant/Asset Management Supervisor tasked with accounting for ITS projects, including Software in Development (SID) and Asset Management activities. This role ensures accurate tracking of project costs, proper capitalization of software development expenses, and compliance with accounting standards. This person plays a key role in month-end close, financial reporting, and supporting audits, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve processes. In addition, the supervisor will focus on the growth and development of direct reports. Key Responsibilities Work closely with department leadership to define and execute the strategic vision for IT Accounting and Fixed Asset Accounting, aligning with broader organizational goals. Manage ITS project accounting, including tracking costs for software development projects. Perform Software in Development (SID) reviews to ensure proper capitalization and asset creation. Support ITS implementation of Agile Methodology while ensuring timely capitalization of SID costs and accurate asset creation. Oversee accounting for Asset Management, including review of journal entries and reconciliations. Prepare monthly management reports and variance analysis to budget and prior year. Ensure timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items. Support annual audit processes and provide required documentation in a timely manner. Collaborate with ITS and Finance teams to improve processes and enhance efficiency; Positioning our department as a strategic partner within the organization. Provide guidance and support to direct reports, fostering a positive team environment. Provide real-time coaching and feedback. Conduct performance evaluations and provide development opportunities to enhance performance. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred. Minimum of five years of experience in accounting and financial reporting. Previous supervisory experience required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with senior leaders. Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop team members. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing business needs. Ability to interpret financial data and present findings clearly. Experience managing month-end close processes and preparing journal entries. Professional-level experience with Excel including visual presentation capabilities; advanced Excel ability a plus. Experience with a general ledger accounting system (NetSuite preferred). Experience with reporting tools (EPM, Essbase and/or Power BI a plus). Experience managing ITS Project Accounting with Service Now experience preferred. Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to work independently.
