The Project Accountant will be responsible for a variety of financial tasks that support project managers and ensure the financial health of projects. This role involves reviewing budgets, including staffing, work plans, and fee structures, to provide project managers and clients with timely financial reports and budgets, as well as project forecasts. The Project Accountant will prepare pre-billing reports for project managers to review and will be responsible for preparing actual costs, working capital, and tax reports. Additionally, the role includes monitoring receivable income and supporting project managers with collections. As a Project Accountant, you will issue invoices and purchase orders, as well as pay consultant, subcontractor, vendor, and supplier bills. Ensuring a steady cash flow is crucial, which involves generating, auditing, and sending invoices in a timely manner. The Project Accountant will also update contracts according to client requirements and report associated budget amendments. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with project managers and clients to ensure financial objectives are met.
