Position Summary As a Project Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of project financials within our firm. You will be responsible for setting up new projects, maintaining project information, and coordinating various financial activities. This includes overseeing project billing, revenue projections, and collections, as well as working closely with project leadership to ensure profitability and accuracy in financial reporting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in an administrative support role
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

  • Knowledge of accounting principles, customer service, and administrative procedures
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide effective financial management of projects by processing invoices, facilitating time transfers and cash receipts, and assisting Project Leadership in meeting profitability goals.
  • Provide financial reports, respond to inquiries, research accounting issues, and process fee adjustments in collaboration with Project Leadership.
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoicing by reviewing contract documentation, approving employee timesheets, and unposted labor reports
  • Monitor reimbursable and direct expenses billed to projects
  • Collaborate with project leadership on monthly draft invoice reviews and six-month revenue projections
  • Assist in maintaining project budgets and analyzing project costs versus revenue and billings
  • Set up and maintain accurate project information in the project management system
  • Review and link contracts to projects, ensuring consistency with staffing and revenue forecasts
  • Coordinate client insurance certificates for projects as needed
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and document collection attempts, providing updates on payment status to clients and project leadership
