About The Position

Cherry Bekaert is seeking a Project Accountant with experience in the government contracting industry. This role will manage project-level accounting functions, ensure compliance with federal regulations, and support financial operations across multiple contract types.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
• Minimum 4 years of accounting experience in government contracting (required)
• Proficiency in Unanet (required)
• Strong understanding of FAR and DFAR compliance
• Experience with billing for multiple contract types (T&M, Cost Plus, Fixed Price)
• Excellent organizational and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Handle journal entries and account reconciliations
• Manage billing for T&M , Cost Plus , and Fixed Price contracts
• Oversee collections and revenue recognition processes
• Ensure compliance with FAR and DFAR requirements
• Provide audit support and assist with internal/external audits
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities
• Collaborate with project managers and finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
