About The Position

The position involves overseeing all project setup and account activities, ensuring compliance with guidelines and policies, and engaging in project creation activities. The role requires designing, implementing, and enforcing policies and procedures for project activities, while working closely with Project Managers and Accounting to address project setup issues related to cost and revenue outages. The individual will engage with project teams to ensure their accounting services needs are met throughout the life of their projects, promoting accountability in project processes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all project setup and account activities including procedural project creation, documented contracts and rates, validating accurate cost and revenue changes, and standardized project closures.
  • Engages in project creation activities to ensure compliance with guidelines/policies.
  • Design, implement, and enforce policies & procedures for project activities.
  • Works closely with Project Managers and Accounting to review and address project setup issues related to cost and revenue outages.
  • Engages with project teams to ensure that their accounting services needs are being met throughout the life of their project(s).
  • Promotes accountability of the project processes.
  • Works with Accounts Receivable and Billing on outstanding corrections and rate changes.
  • Ensures all project time and expense corrections are verified and approved with Billing on a timely basis.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly project performance reports based on Contractual Coverage versus spend.
  • Assists Accounting and Finance in preparation of information required for month-end fiscal reporting.
  • Assures that all monthly closing activity related to Projects are booked on a timely basis.
  • Maintains an internal control environment as it relates to project activities and revenue documentation.
  • Supports team training programs/initiatives and helps to identify opportunities for development.
  • Maintain knowledge of best practices as well as a solid understanding of the current ERP system.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance for project management, controls, and operations in relation to project setup and rate creation/modifications.
  • Develop and implement standardized training, troubleshooting, and researching project issues to help determine cause and resolution.
  • Supports in client-based and year-end closing audits.
  • Ad hoc reporting and additional activities as needed.
