About The Position

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience as a die setter or press operator, preferably with progressive dies.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of stamping press operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, and inspection documents.
  • Proficient in using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.
  • Knowledge of die components and basic die maintenance practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and install progressive dies into stamping presses according to job specifications and production schedules.
  • Adjust press settings (feed length, shut height, sensors, etc.) to ensure proper operation and part quality.
  • Perform first-piece inspections and make necessary adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and part consistency.
  • Operate presses safely and efficiently, monitoring output for defects or abnormalities.
  • Conduct minor die maintenance such as sharpening punches, replacing springs, and cleaning die components as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and correct problems related to die performance, material feed, or machine function.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including part counts, setup times, and maintenance logs.
  • Follow all safety procedures and report any hazards, defects, or malfunctions to supervision immediately.
  • Assist in continuous improvement efforts for die setup processes, tooling efficiency, and production flow.
  • May be assigned other duties to support overall production and company goals.
