About The Position

The RN will provide specialized care to veterans with complex, acute, and chronic conditions requiring close monitoring and intermediate-level nursing support. The RN delivers evidence-based, patient-centered care, including cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and coordination of multidisciplinary treatment plans. This role emphasizes critical thinking, rapid response to changes in patient condition, and collaboration with physicians and healthcare teams to promote optimal recovery and patient safety.

Requirements

  • Unrestricted RN License from any US state/territory.
  • BLS (via American Heart Association).
  • ACLS (via American Heart Association).
  • 3 years of current ICU experience.
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN).

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to veterans requiring intermediate-level monitoring and treatment.
  • Perform thorough patient assessments.
  • Administer and titrate medications.
  • Monitor cardiac and hemodynamic status.
  • Promptly respond to changes in patient condition.
  • Ensure accurate documentation in compliance with VA standards.
  • Adhere to evidence-based protocols.
  • Collaborate with physicians and allied health professionals to implement individualized care plans.
  • Maintain proficiency in advanced technologies such as telemetry, infusion pumps, and electronic medical records.
  • Uphold patient safety and infection control measures.
  • Educate and advocate for patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and post-discharge care requirements.
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to new staff and nursing students.
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives.
