About The Position

Overview We are seeking a P rogressive Care Registered Nurse or PCU RN , internally referred to as our Progressive Care Nurse . In the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), the PCU RN or Step-Down RN will provide specialized care to patients with acute and/or chronic medical conditions who require close monitoring, i ntervention, and support to optimize their outcomes and facilitate their transition to lower levels of care. Requirements

  • C urrent and valid state RN License
  • C urrent BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current

Nice To Haves

  • C urrent ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
  • P revious Acute Care hospital experience
  • V entilator management experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • C onduct assessments of patients' conditions, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, neurological status, respiratory status, and overall clinical stability, you will need to monitor changes in patients' conditions and respond promptly to any deterioration
  • U tilize telemetry and other monitoring devices to continuously monitor patients' cardiac rhythms, oxygen saturation levels, blood pressure, and other parameters you must be able to recognize and interpret abnormalities in monitoring data
  • A dminister medications as directed by physicians, encompassing intravenous medications, antibiotics, pain management medications, and cardiac medications, while vigilantly monitoring patients for any adverse reactions or side effects
  • P erform nursing interventions and treatments as ordered by physicians, such as wound care, catheter care, suctioning, and administration of oxygen therapy, which may include assisting with procedures
  • A dhere to evidence-based practice guidelines, hospital policies, and protocols related to patient care, infection control, and safety
