The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) is a unit of University Research Services & Administration (URSA) under the Office of the Vice President for Research & Economic Development. OSP is dedicated to facilitating research excellence at GSU. We provide comprehensive support and assistance throughout the grant lifecycle, from proposal submission to the management and closeout of sponsored projects. Our team works closely with faculty, department administrators, and administrative staff across the university to ensure compliance and maximize the impact of research at GSU. The Office of Sponsored Programs at Georgia State University is seeking to hire a Sponsored Programs Officer WHAT DO WE DO AT GSU? The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) at Georgia State University is a dynamic and diverse workplace that supports GSU’s research community and its rapidly growing portfolio of sponsored projects. Last year, GSU faculty brought in $165.8 million in research funding, topping $100 million for the 10th consecutive year! OSP is structured to provide targeted service to GSU’s research community. Each GSU department is assigned one preaward officer and one postaward officer. These officers handle all proposals, awards, and sponsored projects for that department. This allows the officers to develop relationships with the department’s PIs and research administrators and become highly knowledgeable about their research portfolio, all while gaining experience with a wide array of sponsors and types of awards. WHAT WILL YOU DO AT GSU? This position will join an experienced and dedicated team of preaward officers who assist GSU investigators in obtaining funding to support their research. The work is challenging and engaging, and you will work with stakeholders all across GSU’s campus and our many different sponsors locally, nationally and internationally.
