About The Position

The Programs & Events Associates will support Coastal Roots Farm’s Education and Events Departments with public-facing programs and events as well as private events. This position is responsible for implementing farm experiences by providing a safe, clean, fun, and educational experience to all Farm visitors, set up and breakdown of events, and guiding all Farm visitors. This position also has opportunity to support various department’s projects throughout the year as well. This position also has opportunity to support various department’s projects throughout the year as well but primarily will support the Farm’s signature events including Farm-To-Table dinners, Farm Film & Music Series, Cultivating Impact Mixers, and Nature Play. The Programs and Events Associate position is year-round with more available and extended hours during peak season May through September. Candidates should be available during the evenings. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Excellent communication, computer, sales, cash handling, and time management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • High levels of attention to detail.
  • Enthusiasm for working in a high energy team environment.
  • Experience working in customer service.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with food preparation, catering, or serving (not required).

Responsibilities

  • Set up and take down equipment including chairs, tables, AV systems, projector, lights, water stations, waste removal, and other necessary items.
  • Ensure all facilities are clean, organized, and safe for visitors and staff.
  • Facilitating the proper organization and cleanliness of event & program spaces.
  • Welcoming guests to the Farm and facilitating check-in.
  • Inspecting inventory to ensure proper supplies.
  • Serving food and drinks to attendees.
  • Cleaning and returning equipment to proper storage space.
  • Provide high levels of customer service.
  • Utilize Virtuous and Square for point of sale, data entry, and other relevant financial exchanges for taking payments and registration at events.
  • Uphold and enforce all necessary safety precautions.
  • Lead Farm Tours and attend team meetings as appropriate.
  • Food Preparation and Cooking.
  • Other duties as assigned.
