About The Position

Work for the IMF. Work for the World. The Programs Analyst supports the operational and administrative management of the IMF Economic Review office. The role is responsible for managing and implementing the workflow of budget and operations for the Review, which includes coordinating activities among the Editor, Co-Editor, seven Associate Editors, and Guest Editors. Key responsibilities include overseeing contract management, processing payments, supporting project management activities, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the Review’s administrative and operational processes. The Programs Analyst also manages the continuous workflow between the IMF Economic Review and its publisher, Palgrave Macmillan/Springer Nature, which handles the production, distribution, and publication of the journal. In addition, the Programs Analyst supports the planning and delivery of research conferences and related events. This includes conceptualizing, coordinating, scheduling, and facilitating both large- and small-scale conferences such as the IMF Jacques Polak Annual Research Conference, the IMF Economic Review Summer Conference, and other research events as required.

Requirements

  • Educational development, typically acquired by the completion of a university degree, or equivalent, in business, accounting, economics, finance, information technology, law, communications, organizational development, or a related field, is required.
  • Alternatively, a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience at Grade A05, or equivalent, is required.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workflows and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience with budget monitoring, contract administration, and payment processing.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex processes involving multiple stakeholders, including external partners and vendors.
  • Experience in event planning and logistics for conferences, workshops, or seminars.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact diplomatically with diverse stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and operational documentation.
  • Proficiency with standard office productivity tools and collaboration platforms.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with a diverse team of editors, researchers, and administrative staff.
