Bleacher Report is a division of Turner Sports. Your New Role... The App Programmer – CFB is responsible for identifying engaging sports content for B/R's mobile app and website. They are tasked with covering breaking news, sending push notifications, curating content, and facilitating the live game experience. They will also plan tentpole events and execute high-impact news coverage around the sports calendar.

Requirements

  • Passionate sports fan, 1-3 years of professional experience preferred
  • Working nights and weekends expected, we work when sports happen
  • Frequent user of B/R app, understanding how it works as a fan
  • Expert-level College Football knowledge preferred
  • A keen awareness of B/R’s voice. When breaking news happens, be expected to know how B/R reacts on multiple platforms
  • Avid consumer of sports content across multiple platforms

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience sending push notifications a plus
  • Experience cutting highlights and short videos a plus

Responsibilities

  • Write push notifications about breaking news, viral moments in sports and sports culture
  • Major focus will be on College Football coverage, but seasonal coverage of other sports also involved and required
  • Program engaging text, video, and social content on all platforms, work cross-functionally with social, editorial, live programming and content planning teams
  • Channel B/R's voice as you distribute content across all platforms
  • Work to re-engage all audiences and maximize user retention in app
