About The Position

E3G is looking for a Programme Lead to oversee, shape and advance our efforts to accelerate industrial decarbonisation internationally within its Clean Economy petal. This role will be based in E3G’s London, Berlin or Brussels offices.

Role Overview
This Programme Lead role will oversee E3G’s efforts to accelerate industrial decarbonisation internationally, working with governments and diplomatic initiatives to increase cooperation among countries on decarbonising industrial production processes, activating new leaders, growing clean economy opportunities for EMDEs via work on green industrialisation and expanding the geographic scope of E3G’s Clean Economy petal. Reporting to the Associate Director for Clean Economy, this role will work alongside the Programme Lead for EU Industrial Transition, managing a multi-location team across E3G’s Europe Offices.
You will play an essential role to lead, shape, coordinate, and manage multi-year initiatives to accelerate industrial decarbonisation internationally. The role requires working across the organisation with other teams and building strategic partnerships and strong relationship management across governments, multilaterals, and non-state actors to drive climate outcomes within a complex geopolitical landscape.
The successful candidate will be both entrepreneurial and team-oriented. The role will require a deep understanding of the connections between industrial decarbonisation, trade and climate policy and a strong interest in the cross-cutting institutions and polices needed to deliver ambitious climate action.

Requirements

• A strong track record of leading high performing teams, with strong collaborative and interpersonal skills applied to the leadership of diverse international teams, and with a focus on creating a strong culture of well being.
• Proven experience of international collaboration and stakeholder management skills with the ability to act confidently in the field of international diplomatic outreach and engagement.
• Demonstrable experience of programme and project management, with evidence of managing complexity and of strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience of budget management and fund raising, project management and program management, preferably in the context of grant-funded work.
• Strong communication skills are essential.

Nice To Haves

• Good knowledge of at least one other language would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership, management, and structure to the Global Industry Transition portfolio, ensuring strategic coherence, risk management, and delivery against objectives and KPIs.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a multi-location team, fostering a collaborative culture and ensuring high performance through regular reviews, capacity-building, and professional growth plans.
• Design, implement, and be accountable to the oversight of comprehensive workplans, budgets, and resource allocations, including funder relationship management and reporting.
• Develop expertise and profile and contribute thought leadership inside and outside E3G in core areas, to ensure E3G remains at the cutting edge of climate action.
• Develop relationships and engage with partners, networks, actors, and experts relevant to delivering outcomes. Build and manage a network of key stakeholders including representatives of the private sector, key institutions, government, and civil society.
• Manage set up, delivery, tracking and reporting of a portfolio of grants including planning, allocating and overseeing resources and work, working with team to set objectives and priorities, and ensuring risk management and course correction in response to emerging challenges and opportunities.
• Represent the organisation externally with partners, funders and with media and in public forums as appropriate.
• Plan and engage in fundraising in their area in cooperation with associate director, including forging relationships with key funder contacts and monitoring emerging funding opportunities.
• Represent E3G at international forums and conferences and in bilateral meetings with senior-level policymakers and thought leaders. Some travel will be required.
