Glen Oaks Hospital (a UHS facility): Glen Oaks Hospital is a 54-bed private mental health hospital in a relaxed setting in Greenville, Texas. For more than 30 years, Glen Oaks Hospital has been a leader in the field of mental health and chemical dependency care, and our staff is dedicated to researching the latest treatment approaches and applying this to our overall treatment philosophy. Position Summary: The Program Therapist performs social services functions to include assisting patients in meeting their biopsychosocial needs while enabling them to access through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, complete specialized clinical social work services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, and providing information and referrals as needed.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field preferred.
  • Program Therapist prefers a minimum of three (3) years experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; must have strong clinical assessment skills.
  • Program Therapist must be state certified in social work or clinical related mental health field. LPC-A, LPC, LMSW, or LCSW license required.
  • CPR certification, Handle With Care and Verbal De-Escalation training within 30 days of employment prior to assisting in a restraining procedure.
  • Must be able to pass a competency exam for the area upon hire.
  • May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
