About The Position

Temporary Position 6-12 month assignment Therapist reports to the Assistant Director of the Outpatient Behavioral Health Services and is responsible for providing the following clinical services (under clinical supervision): Group psychotherapy as part of outpatient services, partial hospitalization programming (PHP), intensive outpatient programming (IOP) in mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment Individual psychotherapy Family psychotherapy Therapy referral management (triage) Crisis management Clinical evaluation Diagnostic assessment Treatment planning In addition, the therapist will provide mental health education to patients and, as appropriate, to the community and other professionals. The Medical Director, Lead Therapist and other clinic providers will furnish clinical and quality care-related feedback. Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, curiosity, focus on safety and a commitment to quality are essential attributes for this position.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in therapy with individuals, couples, and/or groups preferred.
  • Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work, Counseling, Clinical Psychology or Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy is required.
  • Candidate is working towards licensure with The California Board of Behavioral Sciences as one of the following: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification is required.
  • Will complete mandatory 5150 training by Monterey County in order to obtain 5150 certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in an evidence-based practice is preferred (i.e. CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR).
