Program Technician, Restoration and Enhancement
About The Position
IRC has an opening for a full-time Program Technician on the Restoration and Enhancement team. The position is primarily field-based , leading work crews in the implementation of habitat restoration projects. This includes seeding and planting native vegetation, weed maintenance, and field monitoring , often on challenging terrain . The position also involve s some office work of data entry , analysis, and reporting on daily work activities. The Program Technicia n may work independently under general direction and as part of a team. The Successful Candidate will have a minimum of two years of work experience in a related field and the following experience, skills, abilities, and knowledge: Experience in landscape maintenance, habitat restoration, nursery work, or similar Experience safely using and maintaining hand tools such as hoes, trowels, shovels, and weed whips Experience safely driving large trucks and hauling trailers Ability to speak and understand conversational Spanish, for providing instructions to and general communication with field crew members Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a variety of outdoor setting s, many with challenging conditions , at multiple locations Helpful, but not : Familiarity with the local ecology Salary Range : $ 23 . 0 0 - $2 8 .00 per hour ( $4 7 ,840 - $ 58,240 per year) About Irvine Ranch Conservancy : Irvine Ranch Conservancy restores, protects, and enhances our closest connection to nature – our local wildlands.
