About The Position

The University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture is seeking a researcher to manage various turfgrass research trials. The position involves conducting field trials at the University of Arkansas Milo J. Shult Agricultural Research and Extension Center and other sites throughout Arkansas, as well as greenhouse and lab trials at the Fayetteville campus. Responsibilities include applying pesticide treatments, maintaining plants, collecting and managing data, maintaining equipment, and managing inventory. The role also involves assisting with research reports and supervising undergraduate employees.

Requirements

• B.S. in turfgrass science/turfgrass management or closely related field.
• Ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written form.
• Valid US driver’s license.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and walk long distances in field conditions.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience managing high quality turfgrass.
• Certified pesticide applicator license.
• Leadership experience in a team setting.
• Coursework or experience in plant pathology.
• Experience with statistical analysis of research data.

Responsibilities

• Management of research trials including field, greenhouse, and lab trials.
• Data collection and management for field trials.
• Equipment maintenance and assembly.
• Purchasing and inventory management of research supplies.
• Miscellaneous duties including writing and editing research reports and assisting with teaching efforts.
