About The Position

We need an experienced Program Support Specialist at the Naval Dosimetry Center (NDC). The Naval Dosimetry Center is the U.S. Navy’s center of excellence for radiation protection, providing global dosimetry processing, consultation, and exposure tracking to ensure the health and readiness of Navy and Marine Corps personnel. In this role, you will provide enterprise-level program support services—coordinating documentation, scheduling, tracking, and program maintenance activities across approved programs and initiatives. You’ll collaborate with health science specialists and analysts, leverage data tools to support trend analysis, and contribute to quality assurance and records management efforts that directly support mission readiness. Requirements

  • Knowledge of statistical analysis methods sufficient to interpret and present data received from the Department of Defense (DoD), commercial sources, and medical treatment facilities.
  • At least one (1) year of experience supporting laboratory, technical processing, quality-controlled production, or comparable scientific/technical operations.
  • Experience performing duties in a laboratory setting with occupational radiation worker considerations; must be able to meet applicable access, safety, and training requirements established for the worksite.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite programs (Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Publisher).
  • Ability to meet production timeliness and quality expectations in an operational environment where work products affect official dose-of-record reporting and may carry medical and legal significance.
  • Working knowledge sufficient to support ionizing radiation dosimetry operations, including quality-controlled processing, traceable recordkeeping, and technical documentation practices.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
  • Associate degree or higher — required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting accredited laboratory environments (e.g., ISO/IEC 17025 or similar quality frameworks), dosimetry processing operations (including TLD systems), statistical/process control reporting, and technical customer support for distributed user communities.
  • Experience supporting shipment tracking and regulated handling/documentation, maintaining auditable technical records, and participating in audit/corrective-action workflows.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in physics, health physics, radiological science, chemistry, or a related field — preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide enterprise-level program support by performing coordination, documentation, scheduling, tracking, and program maintenance activities in support of approved programs and initiatives.
  • Support program documentation and process management by organizing, updating, and maintaining procedures, guidelines, reference materials, training support documentation, and operational records using Government-approved templates and systems.
  • Collaborate with health science specialists, analysts, and other personnel to review and organize program documentation supporting program administration.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding activities by preparing documentation packets, tracking completion of Government-defined checklists, providing procedural guidance, and reporting status to designated personnel.
  • Support program execution by compiling, organizing, and presenting Government-provided program objectives, performance information, and process data into draft summaries, reports, or standardized formats.
  • Draft process or operational improvement suggestions for Government consideration.
  • Compile and track program-related data using Government-provided data sources and templates to support status reporting and trend visibility.
  • Leverage technologies such as SQL, Excel, and Power BI (or Government-approved equivalents) to conduct trend analysis on program-relevant datasets.
  • Identify patterns or anomalies and prepare draft analytic products for Government review.
  • Assist with routine quality support activities by documenting observed conditions, supporting automated system monitoring, tracking Government-identified corrective actions, and maintaining quality-related records.
  • Assist with the preparation, organization, and maintenance of program-related instructional, written, and oral briefing materials.
  • Support coordination sessions by preparing Government-approved content and draft communications for review and release by the Government.
  • Provide records and information management support by receiving, organizing, tracking, digitizing, and maintaining program records within Government-approved systems.
  • Identify incomplete or inconsistent submissions for Government awareness.
