Position Summary The Family Engagement & Program Support Coordinator serves as a key representative for Early Childhood Education (ECE) programs. This role combines classroom support (approximately 25–30% daily), enrollment and family recruitment, and community engagement across multiple sites. The coordinator supports teachers, assists with staff coverage, plans family and community events, and builds strong relationships with families to ensure high-quality care.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in ECE programs, including classroom support and program coordination.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, Youth Development, Social Work, or related field.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in event planning, program coordination, and volunteer management.
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive and welcoming environments for families.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience planning community events and family engagement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of local communities, schools, and family resources in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom assistance and cover staff breaks daily.
  • Support classroom activities to maintain safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environments.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase enrollment and maintain waitlists.
  • Represent the YMCA at community events, fairs, and meetings in a professional manner.
  • Collaborate with leadership to plan recruitment campaigns and monitor enrollment metrics.
  • Organize and lead family engagement events, workshops, and celebrations.
  • Facilitate Parent Advisory Committees and volunteer initiatives.
  • Act as a liaison between families and programs, ensuring clear communication and positive relationships.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to enrollment, engagement, hiring, and program initiatives.
  • Prepare materials, communications, and promotional content.
  • Maintain accurate records of events and family participation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support program operations.
