About The Position

The Program Supplier Quality Engineer (PSQE) at Raytheon serves as the primary quality interface between the company and its external suppliers, focusing on critical DOD programs. This role involves executing supplier assessments, facilitating problem resolution, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The PSQE is responsible for ensuring compliance with quality standards and requirements, managing supplier performance, and representing Raytheon in supplier engagements. The position operates in a hybrid work environment with some travel expected.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM).
  • 8 years of experience in Quality engineering, Manufacturing, or related engineering discipline, including interpreting schematic drawings and hardware inspection techniques.
  • Experience with aerospace or commercial equivalent preventative tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Working experience in conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with commercial and aerospace/defense regulations and standards: ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9145, and First Article Inspection (FAI).
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma, Lean, and/or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification (CQE, CQM/OE, CSQE, CQA, CRE, etc.).
  • Proven successes in building and maintaining relationships with multiple suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
  • Current Top-Secret security clearance.
  • Experience in DoD product and process oversight including requirements, build, integration, test, and delivery.
  • Experience in engineering, development, project planning, and collaborating remotely.
  • General knowledge of industry technical standards (such as ANSI, CMMI, ASTM, etc.).
  • Strong technical engineer with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous product/process improvements in the supply base by identifying supplier performance issues and implementing solutions through root cause corrective actions (RCCA) and statistical/analytical tools.
  • Ensure flow down of requirements to sub-tier suppliers through purchase order requirements, quality notes, and statements of work (SOW).
  • Manage Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes related to supplier performance and implement necessary engagements.
  • Assess and develop supplier quality capabilities throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Identify and correct systemic performance issues in the supply base.
  • Implement effective Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), including FRACAS investigations and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR).
  • Identify risks in the supply base and develop robust engagement plans.
  • Communicate effectively with Raytheon leadership and customers through business reviews and status meetings.
  • Act as a liaison between the supply base and Engineering for technical requirements and nonconformance disposition.
  • Perform Preliminary Review (PR) of nonconforming hardware in the supply base to manage nonconformance issues.
  • Contribute to the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure supplier quality performance.
  • Support supplier maintenance efforts such as audits, special process compliance, and certification management.
