About The Position

Devereux/TCV Community Services is seeking a Program Supervisor for our new STAIRS program , an intensive residential treatment program for youth with autism and developmental disabilities. The program serves youth with significant behavioral challenges and skill deficits who have not made progress in less restrictive settings. The Program Supervisor plans and implements residential program services for assigned residents. Assists in providing supervision of residents in program activities and leisure time, on and off facility grounds. Maintains a safe and therapeutic treatment environment that meets the physical, emotional, and personal needs of program residents. Provides leadership, guidance and support to staff in assigned program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with at least twelve credits hours in a human services discipline to include but not limited to psychology, sociology, social work, education, pastoral counseling, political science, heath, recreation, criminal justice, counseling; and a minimum of two years direct care experience; OR 60 college credits from an accredited college with at least twelve credit hours in a human services discipline (as described above), and three years direct care experience.
  • Minimum of one year of supervisory experience required.
  • Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing.
  • Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques – upwards of 75-100 lbs. or more.
  • Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision.
  • Occasional use of computers and office equipment.
  • Occasional driving of Devereux-TCV vehicles for business purposes.
  • Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches (S&PA) techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support direct care staff, including task assignments and performance feedback.
  • Oversee daily residential program operations, including activities, schedules, and staff coverage.
  • Assist with program planning, quality assurance, and communication with families and external agencies.
  • Manage program budgets with a focus on efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and best practices.
  • Provide crisis prevention and intervention support using approved techniques and protocols.
  • Coach staff on effective crisis response and safety procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory standards (e.g., licensing, CARF, Joint Commission).
  • Monitor and report changes in resident behavior or health to the appropriate team members.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of treatment services, incidents, and safety interventions.
  • Mentor and orient new staff, providing guidance on policies and procedures.
  • Conduct timely performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and foster a culture of accountability and ownership.
  • Maintain up-to-date training and actively pursue professional development opportunities.
