The Texas Center for Infectious Disease (TCID) within the Division for Regional and Local Health Operations (RLHO) is a Joint Commission accredited Acute-Care Hospital that medically, behaviorally, and socially treats complex cases of certain infectious diseases. TCID seeks a motivated, energetic, and organized teammate to serve as our volunteer services coordinator and communications supervisor. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs advanced (senior-level) community relations and external communications work at the TCID. Responsible for leading a team of three public health professionals to expand a 501c3 Volunteer Services /Community Relations Program. Work involves planning, organizing, directing, publicizing, and reporting functions of the volunteer services/community relations program. Accountable for identifying community and regional partners for fundraising, soliciting, community education, and special projects as assigned by the TCID Superintendent. Works with local, state, and national groups involved in volunteering, granting funds, in-kind contributions of goods and services, and media communications. Serves as a representative for the superintendent between the Volunteer Services Council and the community. Provides motivational and technical assistance for patient care services that require intervention beyond funded hospital resources.
