About The Position

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Interpret work orders and direct the crew about the job scope, tools and materials required. 2. Perform home diagnostic testing, such as blower door, duct blaster, room balancing, worst case combustion testing, combustion appliance testing, and other indoor air quality testing to assure home is safe for the occupant. Oversee pipeline management from intake through project completion. Review scopes of work, cost estimates, and project timelines for accuracy and feasibility. Ensure quality control standards are maintained across all projects. Address complex construction or homeowner issues and approve change orders as necessary. Serve as liaison between the organization and funding agencies, local governments, contractors, and community partners. Support outreach efforts to promote program awareness and participation. Present program updates to boards, councils, or executive leadership as needed. 10. Install and oversee the installation of weatherization measures, such as preparing an attic for insulation installation. Install house fans, repair heating ducts, air sealing, insulating, removing and installing doors and windows, weather stripping, etc. as required by job work order. 11. Performs in depth Energy Audits and safety inspections in customer homes for weatherization and home repair. 12. Complete job reporting requirements. 13. Operate Agency vehicle, driving defensively to transport crew and materials to job sites in a safe manner following agency policies and safety procedures. 14. Coordinate, organize, and participate in on-site weatherization and home repair work. 15. Act responsibly to protect and maintain confidential information. 16. Prepare equipment inventory and gasoline usage reports along with minor maintenance repairs, as required 17. Evaluate job site and work-in-progress for compliance with OSHA standards. 18. Set an example and hold staff accountable for maintaining a professional, positive and courteous demeanor. Must have an ability to work harmoniously with other employees and the public when performing job duties. 19. Willing to accept and perform other work or special projects as assigned for the purpose of improving agency programs. 20. Participates in the selection of new personnel and conducts employee performance evaluations.

Requirements

  • Preferred 5 years of experience in residential carpentry or weatherization activities or related fields
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Good written communication skills
  • Use Microsoft Office applications and other computer software as applicable to the position
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of building construction
  • Experience in supervising construction crew and repairs
  • Must complete all program required training/ certifications within 6 months of hire.
  • Possess or obtain within 6 months: OSHA 10 Hour safety and Lead Smart Renovator Certifications; Building Science Principal (BSP), Building Analyst Technician (BA-T), Building Analyst Professional (BA-P) and Maine Fuel Board Oil & Propane Limited Energy Auditor Technician.
  • Possess or obtain Energy Auditor and Quality Control Inspector certifications once determined eligible.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, an acceptable driving record per the program, have reliable transportation, provide proof of insurance, and must be insurable under agency policy
  • Must pass required background checks
