About The Position

The Food Program Supervisor at Hopelink is responsible for overseeing the food assistance program at a designated center, ensuring effective operations and support for low-income households in North and East King County. This role involves managing volunteers, coordinating food inventory, and providing client intake services, all while fostering a culturally competent and client-focused environment.

Requirements

  • Experience and/or desire to work with low-income families.
  • Strong commitment to customer service with de-escalation or conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Organized and adept at administrative tasks and budgets.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office suite and inventory software.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the food program at a specific center, ensuring effective operations.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and supervision to volunteer staff.
  • Order fresh and non-perishable food weekly from multiple sources.
  • Maintain inventory and cleanliness of the food markets.
  • Perform client intake and determine eligibility for food assistance.
  • Provide information and referrals to clients as needed.
  • Lead and support volunteer staff, promoting a collaborative team culture.
  • Participate in outreach activities and food drives, including occasional weekend work.
