About The Position

The Program Supervisor assists in organizing and directing the appropriate program segment’s day-to-day operations. The Program Supervisor supports the daily operations of the Learning Center with curriculum implementation, classroom quality, and teacher assistance, to ensure alignment with the YMCA core values, DCF, Frog Street curriculum, licensing requirements, and APPLE (Accredited Professional Preschool Learning Environment). Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent required; early childhood education, special needs education or related field of study preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Florida Child Care Director Credential or Child Development Associate (CDA) certification preferred.
  • Demonstrate experience in childcare operations and compliance.
  • Must meet the county and state licensing requirements.
  • 1-3 years of experience in formal childcare curriculum and programming.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required; Procare experience a plus.
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Must be willing to work an on-call schedule rotation as required.
  • Must be willing to travel within Central Florida. Must have a valid Driver license. The employee is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles.
  • Must complete a successful employment verification and background screening, which includes a DCF Level 2 Background Check

Responsibilities

  • Support Curriculum Director in implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum that promotes cognitive, emotional, and physical growth.
  • Provide teachers with best practices tools, Frog Street lesson planning resources, and APPLE Standards.
  • Work with staff to ensure positive parent/staff relations to ensure satisfaction with programming.
  • Regularly inspect, update, and maintain program environments, visual materials, and required components to ensure full compliance at all times.
  • Provides coaching and supervision of staff, including compliance with all developmentally appropriate curriculum standards.
  • Ensures classroom meet all curriculum standards utilizing daily checklist and follow up as applicable.
  • Conducts observations of teachers, gives feedback to staff and Curriculum Director
  • Report all accidents/incidents to the Supervisor and follow risk procedures as outlined in YMCA policy. Report all suspicions of child abuse to proper contacts as outlined in YMCA policy.
  • Daily presence in classrooms as a mentor for best practices with children.
  • Provides objective input on performance evaluations to the leadership team
  • Prepares and coordinates classroom schedules and routines.
  • Provides input into the development of procedures and systems for the department.
  • Works with center leadership to create employee appreciation initiatives.
  • All other duties assigned by Management.
