About The Position
The Program Specialist manages administrative processes for the undergraduate programs in Garland Hall, which includes departments such as Anthropology, Climate Studies, Medicine, Health and Society, and Sociology. The role involves processing major/minor declarations, advisor assignments, and other forms and inquiries such as independent study and grade changes. The Program Specialist also manages enrollment functions via Peoplesoft, tracks undergraduate data for the Directors of Undergraduate Studies, processes end-of-the-year prizes/awards for undergraduate students, and may assist with SACS reports for the undergraduate programs. Additionally, the position maintains the major and minor department listservs for undergraduate programs and works closely with Directors of Undergraduate Studies to support program needs. The role includes distributing regular communications to undergraduate students, producing weekly newsletters and announcements, and collecting scheduling information for undergraduate programs for each semester and summer sessions.
