About The Position

Performs advanced consultative services and technical assistance work. Work involves planning, developing, and implementing an agency program and providing consultative services and technical assistance to program staff, government agencies, community organizations, and the public. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or by the United States Department of Education (USDE). Major course work in Education, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, or a related field preferred. Each year of experience as described below in excess of the required five years may be substituted for thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university on a year-for-year basis.
  • Six years full-time, wage-earning reentry program, case management, education, program administration, or criminal justice administration experience.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration and management.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, rules, regulations, and statutes.
  • Skill to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely.
  • Skill to coordinate with other staff, departments, officials, agencies, organizations, and the public.
  • Skill to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Skill in administrative problem-solving techniques.
  • Skill to prepare and maintain accurate records, files, and reports.
  • Skill to review technical data and prepare technical reports.
  • Skill to establish goals and objectives.
  • Skill in the use of computers and related equipment in a stand-alone or local area network environment.
  • Skill in public address.
  • Skill to plan and coordinate meetings.
  • Skill to develop and evaluate program policies and procedures.
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry under 15 lbs., perceive depth, operate a motor vehicle, and operate motor equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with offender reentry programs preferred.
  • Criminal justice experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of technical, operational, and compliance review procedures and techniques preferred.
  • Knowledge of agency and departmental organizational structure, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the research and planning of programs within the Reentry and Integration Division
  • Assists incarcerated individuals with employment prior to release
  • Develops program action plans, procedures, standards, and regulations in accordance with employment coordination program objectives.
  • Oversees the completion of and monitors required performance reports and recommends appropriate changes
  • Performs research and prepares reports regarding program activities
  • Collects, organizes, analyzes, and prepares materials in response to requests for information.
  • Consults with the public and private agencies involved in the program to resolve problems, identify training needs, and discuss program effectiveness
  • Provides technical assistance in the program area.
  • Conducts system analysis and strategy mapping of agency processes to include productivity data for statistical reporting.
  • Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.
