The College of Nursing has experienced tremendous growth over the past ten years and this will continue. As we look forward, our 10-year strategic plan will emphasize the continued increased scaling of our programs as well as growing the College's clinical enterprise to meet the critical healthcare demands across the state. The Program Specialist will work to meet the clinical education demands of the college by developing, fostering and recruiting clinical partners/preceptors for our undergraduate students. This position will plan and coordinate the recruitment and retention of preceptors statewide to provide experiential clinical opportunities for undergraduate nursing learners. The position is essential to helping advance the CON's mission of improving access to health care for all New Mexicans. The Program Specialist will be familiar with all facets of the development and implementation of systems and processes for effective database utilization internally as well as by preceptor and partnering healthcare agencies. This role will help ensure the compliance of each nursing student in accordance with clinical partners, accrediting bodies, Board of Nursing, Federal, State, and institutional policies/guidelines. Additional duties include writing, editing, and coordinating the development of promotional materials, training manuals, and newsletters in support of program objectives. Responsible for outreach via phone, email, or in-person with new or existing clinical partners. This position requires travel to clinical sites, trainings, special events, and professional conferences.
