About The Position

The Program Specialist (Physician Recruiter) at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center is responsible for developing and directing the Facility Physician Recruitment Program. This role involves serving as the primary contact for physician recruitment inquiries, advising managers on recruitment strategies, and maintaining a database to track positions and candidates. The incumbent will analyze workforce trends and prepare reports to improve recruitment effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-11 level in the normal line of progression.
  • Experience in planning, organizing, and implementing a healthcare delivery system recruitment program.
  • Knowledge of HR policies, laws, and regulations related to recruitment.
  • Ability to apply data analytics in conducting physician salary surveys and evaluating performance metrics.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with LEAN or LEAN Six-Sigma performance improvement techniques.
  • Familiarity with managing complex programs for medical school-affiliated medical centers.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary source for individuals inquiring about physician recruitment.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert in recruitment and placement of Title 38 Physicians.
  • Liaison with universities and colleges to ensure continued communication from qualified applicants.
  • Advise and train managers on recruitment strategies, sources of recruitment, and special programs.
  • Identify and recommend appropriate recruitment incentives for key positions.
  • Develop and implement branding techniques and materials for CNV AMC that conform to VA branding tools.
  • Maintain a database to track positions and candidate leads for short- and long-term use.
  • Serve as local facility subject matter expert for Non-Citizen VISAs and applicable standards.
  • Analyze trends and forecast changes in workforce requirements, preparing monthly reports and recommendations.
  • Develop a tracking system for biennial pay to ensure timely processing.
  • Manage and prepare reports, coordinating the establishment and tracking of HR metrics.
