About The Position

Performs complex consultative services and technical assistance work. Work involves planning, developing, and implementing an agency program; providing consultative services and technical assistance to program staff, governmental agencies, community organizations, and the public; and providing guidance to others. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED.
  • Five years full-time, wage-earning case processing, customer service, clerical, administrative support, technical program support, or operational support experience.
  • Fifteen semester hours from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education accreditation (CHEA) or by the United States Department of Education (USDE) may be substituted for each six months of experience.
  • Knowledge of the methods, practices, and procedures of cognitively based reentry programs and evidence-based practices.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, rules, regulations, and statutes.
  • Skill to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely.
  • Skill to coordinate with other staff, departments, officials, agencies, organizations, and the public.
  • Skill to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Skill in administrative problem-solving techniques.
  • Skill in the use of computers and related equipment in a stand-alone or local area network environment.
  • Skill to prepare and maintain accurate records, files, and reports.
  • Skill to review technical data and prepare technical reports.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent to include word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software programs.
  • Skill to develop and conduct training and in-service programs.
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry under 15 lbs., perceive depth, operate a motor vehicle, and operate motor equipment.
  • Conditions include working inside, working around machines with moving parts and moving objects, radiant and electrical energy, working closely with others, working alone, working protracted or irregular hours, and traveling by car, van, bus, and airplane.
  • Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing only the essential functions include computer and related equipment, calculator, copier, fax machine, telephone, dolly, and automobile.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by the CHEA or by the USDE preferred.
  • Knowledge of agency and departmental organizational structure, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates the District Reentry Center Grant program; develops and recommends program guidelines, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations; and participates in the development of program goals and objectives.
  • Conducts program analyses and ensures compliance with registration, program policies and procedures, and state and federal laws; and prepares and reviews reports on the effectiveness of program activities.
  • Collects, compiles, and reviews statistical data; evaluates research findings relative to specific projects being developed; assists in the preparation of administrative and statistical reports and studies; and maintains a database for tracking offender program statistical information.
  • Confers with staff on program issues and problems to identify and implement solutions; and provides liaison with agency staff, other agencies and organizations, and the public.
  • Facilitates district reentry center classes and staff trainings; develops and conducts training; and provides technical guidance and assistance on the program operations and services.
  • Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.
