About The Position

The Program Specialist II works with children in our Psychiatric unit and is the primary caretaker for psychiatric patients ages Pre-K - adolescents. The specialist assists patients with activities of daily living, maintaining a safe environment, and the management of harmful behaviors. This position also participates in crisis intervention, teaching, group process, and on-call as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (Preferably in psychology, child development, social work or related field)
  • Experience working with at-risk youth preferred
  • Education in Child growth and development courses required
  • Prior experience working in inpatient or partial hospital psychiatric treatment preferred
  • BLS certification, or must be completed within 60 days of start date
  • CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention - Units 1-7 & 9-10 plus the CPI Children's Control Position from Unit 8 or must be completed within 60 days of start date

  • Prior Cook employees grandfathered in with at least 2 years of previous inpatient/partial hospital/residential child or adolescent services for each year of college
