About The Position

STV is actively seeking an FRA/FTA Safety Management System Program Specialist for various locations to be a part of our Safety & Security department. The ideal candidate will be highly experienced in Federal and State regulatory requirements as related to Safety and Safety Management System (SMS) elements, client support to prepare for and achieve regulatory compliance, audit and gap analysis to assist clients in advancing safety in agency culture and human behavior, incident investigation and root cause analysis, development of client related plans, policies, procedures, and overall client safety program advancement. Market sector will focus on but not limited to Departments of Transportation, FRA, FTA, Motor Freight Carriers, and those interfaces with industrial distribution carriers. Requirements

  • Associate degree required with bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of twenty (10) years of progressive FTA/FRA safety experience specializing in hazard and incident investigation and safety management.
  • Highly effective in all manners of communications including a demonstrable ability to write technical content and reports.
  • USDOT TSSP Certification
  • Experience with Microsoft Word®, Excel®, Outlook®, Visio®, PowerPoint®, and SharePoint®
  • Initiative-taking must work well with others.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in Identify and strategically addressing market trends and customer needs to facilitate program success.
  • Ethically represent STV’s safety consulting capabilities to our clients throughout business development and operations.
  • Create and strengthen relationships with new and existing customers to grow our Practice.
  • Assist in Coordinating efforts to expand our practice and team with STV’s Regional Development Directors (RDDs) and our marketing teams.
  • Serve as a Technical Lead for practice consulting efforts, Support clients in gaining, monitoring, and maintaining a Safety Program and Safety Management Systems maturity based upon regulatory compliance and agency safety goals.
  • Conduct a comprehensive annual review of STV’s DoT Safety Business Plan to assist in developing short-term and long-term goals for the expansion of services to our clients.
