The Program Specialist for the College of Business (COB) at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) plays a crucial role in providing administrative and operational support to the college's operations. This position is integral to the internal functioning of the COB Support Center, located in the Dean's suite, and involves managing various aspects of student employee management, procurement, travel support, and facility management. The Program Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the hiring, payroll, evaluations, and termination processes for student employees, ensuring that all necessary paperwork is processed efficiently. Additionally, this role includes coordinating student employment actions, maintaining job descriptions, and serving as a liaison between the COB and UCCS Student Employment office. In terms of procurement and travel support, the Program Specialist will handle the ordering and inventory of office supplies, process payment vouchers and purchase orders, and manage travel authorizations and reimbursements using the Concur Expense System. This position also involves assisting with the financial management of various programs, including budget tracking and invoicing for events and services. Furthermore, the Program Specialist will assist with facility management tasks, such as onboarding new faculty and staff, coordinating office equipment maintenance, and managing building keys. To succeed in this role, the Program Specialist must demonstrate a high level of integrity, strong attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills. The ability to work effectively with diverse populations and manage multiple projects simultaneously is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software is required, along with the capability to compile data and prepare reports.
