About The Position

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a Program Specialist in Estate Recovery to join our MLTC Recovery and Cost Avoidance team in Lincoln. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent coursework/training, in public administration, social/behavioral sciences, healthcare, human services or other program related field.
Professional experience working in a human/social service or health care agency with responsibility for planning or evaluation services, programs or operational policies and practices may substitute in lieu of the educational requirement.
Good accounting, organizational, multi-tasking skills, in addition to good phone customer service.
Plan, organize and support a major program, work collaboratively, analyze develop and organize technical materials, , Interpret and apply rules regulations and procedures to a specialized program; communicate via various methods to promote, explain, discuss, advise, and interact with interested groups on various program issues and problems; exercise independent critical thinking skills.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of: MMIS, N-Focus, OnBase
Familiarity with accounting/budgeting &/or estate planning.

Responsibilities

Review & process forms for probated and non-probated estates
Process checks, certification requests and inheritance tax determinations
Answer phones and e-mails for the program.
