As a Program Specialist - Network Integrity with the Space Communications and Navigation Program (SCaN) within the Space Operations Mission Directorate, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and security of NASA's critical information technology and physical security systems. This position requires you to be an expert in various functions that support the program's adherence to Department of Homeland Security and NASA regulations, policies, and guidelines. You will be responsible for ensuring that the program meets all necessary compliance requirements while supporting NASA's Mission Essential Infrastructure. In this role, you will serve as a liaison between the Office of Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and the Office of Protective Services (OPS), identifying and addressing network security issues. You will present findings regarding network security challenges to SCaN leadership and external stakeholders, advocating for necessary funding and improvements based on assessments of SCaN networks. Your responsibilities will include evaluating regulations and requirements from both internal and external organizations to ensure their application to mission networks, as well as providing quality assurance for security documentation and System Security Plans. You will also collaborate with stakeholders on Cloud Security and review Interconnection Security Agreements to ensure consistency and mission applicability. Additionally, you will provide guidance on security outreach initiatives for SCaN personnel, focusing on security requirements and data protection. Identifying risks to mission network support and devising contingency plans will be crucial aspects of your role, as will fostering a culture of engagement, diversity, and inclusiveness within the team.
