About The Position

The Program Specialist for Adult Education at the College of DuPage is responsible for creating and coordinating course schedules for Adult Basic Education (ABE), High School Equivalency (HSE), and English Language Acquisition (ELA) programs. This role ensures compliance with funding requirements and supports faculty and students through effective communication and resource management. The position is grant-funded and plays a crucial role in maintaining the sustainability of adult education programs.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree required.
  • Three (3) years of experience in an educational office environment or similar required.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, computation, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Extensive telephone and excellent customer service skills required.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to analyze data and check for accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Higher education and/or grant experience preferred.
  • Experience in scheduling systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create and coordinate the course/class schedule for ABE/HSE and ELA departments.
  • Ensure all courses/classes meet ICCB Adult Education and College of DuPage funding requirements.
  • Manage and maintain class schedules, sections, and enrollment reports within Colleague and DAISI.
  • Complete course rollovers, additions, and updates in compliance with Academic Scheduling.
  • Inform faculty and staff of current course schedules, including updates and changes.
  • Work with Academic Scheduling for proper room bookings for classes and events.
  • Assist with scheduling interviews and reference checks for adjunct faculty as delegated.
  • Manage distribution of grant-required textbooks/materials to faculty and students.
  • Manage department faculty communication, assignments, and directories.
  • Assist with new faculty orientations and training for each new faculty member.
  • Update and maintain the COD online faculty website/portal with curriculum and required documents.
  • Lead person for all faculty support and materials.
