Big Bend Community College (BBCC) is seeking a dedicated Program Specialist 2 to support its Early Childhood Education (ECE) and Education programs. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about education and committed to fostering a positive learning environment for students. The Program Specialist will work under general direction, collaborating closely with program faculty and staff to provide essential instructional, student, and clerical support for Workforce Education programs. The primary focus will be on Early Childhood Education, ensuring that students receive the guidance and resources they need to succeed in their educational pursuits. In this role, the Program Specialist will be responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall success of the programs. This includes preparing course documentation, grading assignments, and providing course information to students. The specialist will also support instruction both on campus and at offsite locations, ensuring that all students have access to quality education regardless of their circumstances. Additionally, the Program Specialist will participate in the assessment of program outcomes and work closely with instructors to enhance the learning experience in campus, offsite, and online classroom environments. The position also involves advising potential and continuing Workforce Education students, providing them with program information, and representing the Workforce Education programs at various outreach events. The Program Specialist will coordinate student, course, and program orientations, and work with campus resources to address admissions, registration, advising, and student financial issues. Furthermore, the specialist will prepare updates and materials for regular meetings of the program advisory committee, recruit for and participate in these meetings, and monitor the program budget as directed by the dean. Data management is another critical aspect of this role. The Program Specialist will collect and prepare data for program reporting purposes, running queries to extract data from ctcLink or requesting data from the Institutional Research & Planning Department. Maintaining the security of program equipment and class/lab spaces is also a key responsibility, along with coordinating the creation and dissemination of promotional materials to enhance program visibility and engagement.
